Vice Chair

Ron Tilton

“I jumped at the opportunity to serve on DURA’s Board of Commissioners. During my career in banking, I witnessed DURA serve as a critical financing partner for our City’s several civic redevelopments. Denver wouldn’t look the same without the presence and support of DURA.”

Ron Tilton served as the president of FirstBank, retiring after a nearly 36-year career with the institution. Tilton was responsible for managing larger commercial real estate relationships and was responsible for facilitating complex financing projects and client relationships with Wynkoop Brewing (1992), the Denver Dry (1993), The Palace Lofts (1996), the Denver Pavilions (2008), Union Station (2012) and Maryland Creek Ranch (2016). Tilton managed a team that included the president of credit, the president of mortgage & consumer lending, the president of business banking and three regional presidents who oversaw markets in Colorado, Arizona and California.

Tilton serves as a member and commissioner of the MSU Denver Foundation Board and is committed to investing back into the community through previous service on the Metro Denver Economic Corporation Board, the Colorado Hall of Fame Selection Committee and the Colorado State Banking Board. Tilton also served on the Junior Achievement Rocky Mountain board, and in 2013, received the Junior Achievement Gold Leadership Award for his service to the organization.

Tilton holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Kansas State University and is a graduate of the Bank Compliance School in Norman, Oklahoma, and the Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle, Washington. His other previous community involvement includes St. Joseph Hospital Foundation, Parent Pathways, Urban League, Del Norte Housing, Denver Area Boy Scouts, Denver Civic Ventures, Downtown Denver Partnership and Colorado Lending Source.
