Community Investment Coordinator

Cindy Ambs

“I love working for Community Investment. Denver communities have historically seen both the good and bad side of redevelopment, and I wanted to be on the side makes sure every person and their perspectives are heard. I want to help invest in communities and not just projects.”

Cindy Ambs is the Community Investment Coordinator at DURA, bringing nearly a decade of experience as a community advocate supporting Denver’s most marginalized residents, and particularly the Vietnamese community in West Denver. She joined DURA specifically to support the Community STAND grant program that offers funding to small businesses, nonprofits and business improvement districts to enable enhancements.

Cindy is skilled in strategic planning and grant management and is a champion of Language Justice. Before joining DURA, she was a Senior Business Advisor at Mile High United Way, where she oversaw the distribution of $5 million in ARPA grants and expanded programs for underserved small businesses.

Born in Vietnam and raised in the US, Cindy is bilingual (Vietnamese/English). In her spare time, she enjoys food (especially soup dumplings) and flavored lattes, and she is on the Advisory Committee for Community Impact at the Denver Foundation.
