DURA is Hiring! Housing Support Specialist

The DURA Housing department looking for a Housing Support Specialist to join our team. This position serves as our first point of contact and will be responsible for answering and directing calls and working directly with housing clients to assist them with the intake process. Essential Duties:

  • -Screens inbound calls from prospective clients for eligibility and maintains caller tracking databases.
  • -Maintains a waiting list of potential clients for the Housing programs, if needed.
  • -Works with potential clients to take program specific applications and gather necessary paperwork for Loan Specialist review.
  • -Follows up with callers who have requested information but have not applied for Housing programs.
  • -Enters initial calls for DURA Housing Programs into CRM system (Neighborly) Refers clients to community resources and other organizations when Housing programs cannot meet their needs.

Organizational Administrative Support:

  • -Performs receptionist duties for agency by answering phones and voicemail and directing callers to appropriate personnel, greets on-site visitors, screens calls and provides exceptional customer service to staff, clients and Board of Commissioners
  • -Sorts and distributes mail and faxes, post mail, receives deliveries, arranges and monitors courier pickups, maintains inventory of and orders all office and breakroom supplies, monitors use and operation of basic office equipment (copiers, fax and postage meter), monitors and maintains schedule of conference room meetings.
  • -Updates reception Procedures Manual by ensuring all procedural instructions, reference materials and resource information are current, accurate and organized.

Other Duties:

  • -Assists Administrative Services Manager with tasks including but not limited to:
  • -Supports ASM with special projects.
  • -Maintains cleanliness of kitchen including unloading and loading dishwasher.
  • -Assists Housing staff with tasks including but not limited to:
  • -Scans documents
  • -Mailings

Knowledge and Skills:

  • -General knowledge of affordable housing programs and/or experience working with HUD funded-programs a plus.
  • -Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • -Ability to work respectfully with staff and clients.
  • -Ability to work in a team environment.
  • -Ability to provide courteous, knowledgeable and professional customer service on the telephone, via email and in person.
  • -Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • -Knowledge of and experience in using customer relationship management (CRM), ability to perform accurate data input into a database.
  • -Strong organizational skills required.
  • -Solution seeking.
  • -Ability to multi-task and effectively balance competing priorities.

Education

Graduation from high school or equivalent

Experience

  • -Minimum of two years’ experience in a Customer Service position.
  • -Two years of general office experience within a residential real estate organization, a lending organization or a non-profit housing organization preferred.
  • -Experience in working with low to moderate income households preferred.
  • -Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Software Utilized

MS Office Suite, CRM Software (Neighborly)

Working Conditions:

  • -The DURA Office is in the Denver Dry Building, right off 16th Street, providing great access to all that downtown Denver has to offer.
  • -Front Desk position working Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:00.
  • -Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • -Hybrid Schedule (work from home 2 days per week).

Benefits and Pay:

  • -Starting Pay range: $40,000 to $45,000 depending on experience.
  • -Spanish language stipend for qualified candidates (testing required).
