Are you a Denver resident with a disability and in need of accessibility modifications to your home such as wheelchair ramps, grab bars, bathroom fixtures, stairlifts or other upgrades? The Denver Urban Renewal Authority (DURA) has a program that can help and is currently seeking applicants! Through DURA’s Renter/Homeowner Accessibility Modification Program (RHAMP), individuals with qualifying disabilities (as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act) receive $7,500 on average in upgrades to make their home more accessible. DURA also offers several other housing rehabilitation programs to help Denver homeowners facing costly, yet necessary, home improvements and emergency repairs. These programs match low- and moderate-income residents with grants and low-interest loans for things like replacing a water heater or sewer line, installing a new roof, or more thorough rehabilitation of a deteriorating single-family home. Repairs that ensure the home is safe and comfortable and allow residents to stay in their homes.
