Repair Refresh: What can DURA help with?
We all need a refresh every once in a while. We’re here to remind you of the many repairs and projects that DURA’s housing rehabilitation programs cover.
- – Essential repairs and updates needed to bring a home up to city code requirements qualify under DURA’s housing rehabilitation program. The different programs DURA offers are broken into three categories:
- – Single Family Rehabilitation (SFR)
- The SFR program is designed for major home rehabilitation such as roofing, plumbing, siding, gutters and window repair or replacement — as well as some kitchen and bathroom repairs like tile and cabinetry. A lead-based paint risk assessment is performed at no cost in all SFR projects.
- – Emergency Home Repair (EHR)
- Loan funds from the EHR Program can be used to make essential emergency home repairs such as roofing and gutters, heating, electrical, and plumbing. Some appliance replacements (hot water heater or furnace) are also offered through this program.
- – Renter/Homeowner Access Modification Program (RHAMP)
- RHAMP grants provide the funding and technical expertise to Denver residents with eligible disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Participants may use grant funds to make necessary modifications to their homes, including but not limited to: wheelchair ramps, lifts for chairs and stairs, grab bars and other ADA bathroom fixtures.
